XY Inc. MOVES HEADQUARTERS, EQUINE-BREEDING OPERATIONS TO HISTORIC
MOONDRIFT FARM
FORT COLLINS--To accommodate its expanding
equine-breeding program, XY Inc., has moved its headquarters and horse
facilities to historic Moondrift Farm, located at 1108 N. Lemay Ave.,
Fort Collins.
XY Inc., based in Fort Collins, is emerging
as the world leader in the research, development and commercialization
of sex-selection techniques in non-human mammals, including horses,
cattle, pigs and endangered species.
XY Inc.'s successful horse-breeding program
began in 1997 at XY Inc.'s main facility on the Foothills campus of Colorado
State where a mare was bred using sperm sorted to specifically produce
a filly. That historic-and internationally known-filly, "Call Me Madam,"
was born in August 1998 and serves as proof that horse breeders worldwide
can pre-select the sex of a mare's offspring. Currently, 14 sex-sorted
foals are part of the XY Inc. herd.
