April 2004 Contact: XY INC. SIGNS AGREEMENT WITH TRANS OVA GENETICS FORT COLLINS—In late March, XY Inc. and Trans Ova Genetics, the global leader in livestock embryo transplants, signed an agreement that will enhance livestock producers’ ability to produce cattle of a specific sex. "XY Inc. has the best sperm-sorting technology in the world," said David Faber, Trans Ova genetics president. "Through this agreement, Trans Ova Genetics has the ability to provide our customers with the sex of the animals they prefer." Faber said Trans Ova Genetics will begin its initial work with sorted sperm in approximately 30 days. Trans Ova Genetics (www.transova.com) originally was founded to provide superior reproductive technology to seed-stock producers in the Midwest. The current main facility is located a few miles north of Sioux Center, Iowa. Satellite facilities to house in-vitro fertilization donors and export donors are located in Chillicothe, Mo.; Belgrade, Mont.; Crescent, Okla.; and Mendota, Ill. "We’ve been watching XY Inc.’s sperm-sorting technology for some time," noted Faber. "XY Inc. produces tremendous results, and their technology is affordable." He added: "When Trans Ova started working with XY Inc., we were delighted that their first concern was, ‘Can we work together and produce a quality product?’ The answer is a resounding ‘yes.’ We have the foundation of a very good, long-term relationship." "Trans Ova is highly respected in the field of livestock embryo transplants. It is a privilege to work with them," said XY Inc. President and CEO Dr. Mervyn Jacobson, M.B.B.S. "The combined force of two advanced technologies will help the livestock industry address reproductive challenges more effectively." |
