IQ Awards Recognize Local Industry Leaders By Julie Gordon Fort Collins-based XY Inc.'s unique technology enables scientists to predetermine the sex of cattle, horses, pigs and exotic species. For its cutting edge development, XY Inc. earned an A-plus: The company was one of six winners announced Thursday at the second annual IQ (Innovation Quotient) awards on Thursday. The event, held at the University Park Holiday Inn, 425 W. Prospect Road, and organized by the Northern Colorado Business Report, recognized corporate innovation in six different areas. XY took honors in the technology/agribusiness category. "We're very honored," said Jonathon Sanders, XY's chief operating officer, after accepting the award. "It's a recognition of the innovation that has taken place in Northern Colorado. We're very pleased to be recognized... but more that that, it's a recognition of all our employees, our innovation, our research all around the world."
