World's First Sex-Selected Kittens
In October 2006, the world’s first sex-selected domestic cats were born with their sex predetermined. The litter, produced from embryos fertilized with sexed sperm, was born at Audubon Center for Research of Endangered Species in New Orleans.

In March 2005 XY Inc. and L’Alliance Boviteq announces the signing of a commercial license agreement to apply XY® sex-selection technology to the Canadian cattle industry.

In February 2005 XY-Mexico SA d’CV, a subsidiary of XY Inc., works with major Mexican dairymen to produce Mexico’s first sexed calves via XY® Inc. sex-selection technology.

IND Lifetech and Evergen Report Birth of Sex-Selected Calves
In November 2004 IND Lifetech and Evergen, which each hold pre-commercial licenses to produce cattle embryos for shipment to China, reports the birth of their first calves in China.

XY Inc. Signs Historic Agreement with Chinese Dairy Industry
In August 2004, XY Inc. and DakoCytomation jointly sign an agreement worth more than $10 million to work with GoldCattle Bio. Inc. and China National Animal Breeding Stock Export/Import Corporation (CABS). The aim of the agreement is to improve the quantity and quality of the dairy herd in China, and in turn, to substantially increase milk production in that country.

Inguran Begins Commercial Sales of Sexed-Semen Services
In April 2004 Inguran, XY Inc.’s first commercial U.S. licensee, begins to offer complete sexed-semen services in conjunction with bulls custom collected at Genetic Resource International Inguran is located in Navasota, Texas.

XY Inc. Signs Commercial Agreement with Trans Ova
In March XY Inc. and Trans Ova Genetics, the global leader in embryo production and transfer, signs an agreement that allows Trans Ova, located in Sioux Center, Iowa, USA, to provide its customers with sexed cattle embryos.

2003

Goyaike Begins Commercial Sales of Sexed Cattle Sperm
In 2003, Goyaike S.A, a leading cattle-breeding company in Argentina, begins commercial sales of sorted cattle sperm in that country.

Birth of XY-Mexico
XY-Mexico launches in July 2003. Licensed to work with Mexican dairy and cattle farmers, XY-Mexico, CA d’CV, Torreon, Mexico, will soon begin its first commercial sales of sexed straws of bull sperm.

USDA Supports Licensing Arrangements
In October 2003, the USDA completes its due diligence on XY Inc., and the company meets all required standards. XY Inc. now receives active USDA support for its new licensing arrangements in the United States and other jurisdictions.

 
 
First Lady
First Lady is born, the world’s first foal produced from Call Me Madam, the world’s first sex-selected filly in 1998, and Augustus Primus, the world’s first sex-selected colt in 1999. Researchers sorted the stallion sperm for only female-producing sperm. First lady was conceived using 17 million sperm – just 3 percent of the recognized “standard” dosage used with artificial insemination in horses.

XY Inc. worked with Australian researchers to combine sex-sorted equine sperm with embryo transfer to successfully produce Ballerina, whose dam is a high-quality polo mare.

XY Inc. and Sydney University announce the world’s first sex-selected lambs conceived using low doses of sperm that were sorted, then frozen, thawed and artificially inseminated into ewes.

A collaboration between the Colorado State University Research Foundation and Cytomation, the world’s leading flow-cytometer manufacturer, results in the establishment of XY Inc. in Fort Collins, Colorado, USA.

Separation of X- and Y-Bearing Sperm
Further advances in flow cytometry and low-dose insemination permit Colorado State University researchers to produce the world’s first sex-selected calf by artificial insemination.
